Vice President of Security Regional Operations

MGM Resorts International

 

Joe Doa serves as the Vice President of Security for MGM Resorts International’s Regional Operations. He is responsible for the oversight of all security operations for the company’s properties outside of Las Vegas. Mr. Doa joined MGMRI in 2019 as the Vice President of Security for MGM National Harbor prior to taking on the oversight of all regional operations. In that role, he coordinated all security and criminal investigative functions at the fully integrated resort outside of Washington, DC.

 

Prior to joining MGMRI, Mr. Doa served as the Regional Director of Safety & Security for Hilton Hotels overseeing security operations for the Eastern United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, consisting of 110 managed properties. In that role, he had oversight over Hilton’s Global Incident Response Team supporting large scale crisis response efforts for natural disasters, terrorism, and criminal incidents, as well as preparing and supporting hotels in advance of worldwide media events, fundraisers, and nationally recognized tier one level events. Crisis response efforts included supporting impacted hotels for major incidents such as Hurricanes Maria and Irma, and deployments to Europe and Africa. Some of the large-scale event security programs Mr. Doa supported included the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, Presidential Inaugurations, NATO and G7 summits. 

 

Before taking a corporate role with Hilton, Mr. Doa served in various security roles in the hospitality, entertainment, and tourism industry, including Director of Safety & Security at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel in Chicago, IL, Assistant Director of Security for Amway Hotel Corporation, and assistance with the executive protection program for the Chicago Cubs.

 

Mr. Doa is a member of the American Society of Industrial Security International (ASIS) in which he currently serves as the Chairperson of the Gaming & Wagering Protection Community. He has previously served as the Chairperson of the Hospitality, Entertainment and Tourism Security Council. He currently serves as the Chairperson of the FBI/DHS DSAC TRISC (Threat and Resilience Information Sharing Committee) fostering strong public and private sector relationships. Mr. Doa also serves as a Private Sector Industry Advisor to the White House Office of Pandemic Preparedness and Response Policy.

 

Mr. Doa is a graduate of Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, MI, where he received his bachelor’s degree in business management. He is also a graduate of the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA where he attended the DSAC Graduate Domestic Security Academy Session V and the Domestic Security Executive Academy Session XVII.
